The Eaton MTL5573 is a premium-quality module from the MTL 5000 series, designed for hazardous-area use. Its core function is to convert low-level DC signals from temperature sensors (RTDs or thermocouples) in explosive atmospheres into a secure 4–20 mA output for safe-area instrumentation.

Equipped with one channel, the MTL5573 supports:

  • Thermocouple (THC) inputs: J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N or XK types down to ±3 mV span. 

  • RTD inputs: 2-, 3- or 4-wire configurations (PT100, PT500, PT1000 etc.) and resistances up to 400 

Additional highlights:

  • Supply voltage: 20-35 V dc. 

  • Excellent common-mode rejection (>120 dB at 240 V, 50/60 Hz) and series-mode rejection (>40 dB) ensure robust signal integrity.

  • The module is ATEX/IECEx approved for Zone 0, IIC hazardous-area sources, Zones 1/2 Groups A-D.
